For all of you out there that have always been wondering how some dogs are just naturally gifted in finding bones, direct your inquiries to Sushi. She is an expert in digging up objects rejected by humanity.

This is how you do it.

1. Observe. Find a terrain that is easy to dig in. Suggestion: sandy beach.

2. Research. A good nose is a welcome instrument.

3. Dig. This is the funnest step of the process.

4. Secure your prey. Do not let anyone get close to you from this point on.

5. Prep your find. Includes removing sand or dust for easier processing further on.

I haven't posted any photos of baby Sushi yet. We got her in San Jose and she was the runt of her litter. And even though she was the tinnies, she was the most friendly and good-natured pup among her brothers and sisters. We spent about three hours at the breeder's and she would follow me everywhere, wanting to sit in my lap. Because she was so undernourished, her whole world for the next two months was turning around food and sleep. She would eat, then play and then sleep - over and over again. I took about 4000 photos of her during that time, and here are a couple.
