Jennifer and Collen created this wonderful surprise for me (and Sushi).  They figured, since Sushi is a regular at our Six Apart office now, she might as well have her own name on the cube. 

Or as Jen puts it: "She’s working like a dog at Six Apart and even has her name on the cube ;)"

My...Our coworkers are soooooo sweeeet :) 

Sushi is becoming a real California beach girl.  We spent the Saturday on Stinson beach, enjoying all the fun stuff a beach has to offer: chasing dogs, searching for bird feathers, digging huge holes in sand, playing tug-war with an algae plant and boogie-boarding.  I love swimming, Sushi unfortunately not so much...yet:).  But she's a very devoted dog and she wants to be a part of everything I do.

Sushi always had a distaste for water but she learned how to swim last weekend.  She's been a brave little dogie and I was surprised by her talents - she swam and maneuvered like a Thorpe.  We've been breaking the rules again, swimming in the Alpine Lake.  But it was worth it :)

I took Sushi on a hike around  Wolf Ridge in Marin Headlands.  Apparently there used to be a whole system of underground bunkers in this area.  Sushi totally got into old army smells while I more endeavored in spectacular coastal views. 

Sushi also had a *very* close encounter with a snake.  Fortunately the beast fled, but it freaked me out.

Sushi is a trooper.  On this hike around Kent Lake in Marin she met a horse (and fled as fast as she could), discovered that lizards can hide faster than she can run and that hiding in grass is kind of fun.

...especially when she's digging in sand at Stinson Beach on Sunday afternoons...

I haven't posted any photos of baby Sushi yet.  We got her in San Jose and she was the runt of her litter.  And even though she was the tinnies, she was the most friendly and good-natured pup among her brothers and sisters.  We spent about three hours at the breeder's and she would follow me everywhere, wanting to sit in my lap.  Because she was so undernourished, her whole world for the next two months was turning around food and sleep.  She would eat, then play and then sleep - over and over again.  I shot about 4000 photos of her during that time, and here are a couple.

Miss Sushi spent the weekend and her first President's Day in the sunny San Diego.  She's also been in Dog Heaven - beach for pooches only.
